L’attesa ora è veramente finita: i Gorillaz hanno finalmente annunciato titolo e release-date del loro atteso nuovo disco.
“Humanz”, in uscita il 28 aprile, segna il ritorno dopo 6 anni della band di fantasia partorita dalla mente di Damon Albarn e Jamie Hewlett e conterrà 14 tracce alle quali si aggiungono altri 5 brani nella versione deluxe.
Sarà disponibile anche una Super Deluxe Vinyl Box Set contenente ognuna delle 14 canzoni, con relativa versione alternativa su lato B, su 14 diversi vinili, insomma un mastodontico box set da 14 dischi.
Come anticipato dallo ‘spoiler’ di qualche giorno fa la lista dei collaboratori di “Humanz” è ricca.: Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Danny Brown, De La Soul, Pusha T, Kali Uchis, Ben Mendelsohn (voce narrante degli interludi) Kelela, Benjamin Clementine e molti altri. Produttori accreditati oltre gli stessi Gorillaz the Twilite Tone of D /\ P, già al fianco di Pusha T e John Legend e Remi Kabaka.
Come se non bastasse sempre oggi i Gorillaz hanno pubblicato su YouTube 4 brani estratti dal prossimo disco: “Saturnz Barz” [ft. Popcaan], “Ascension” [ft. Vince Staples], “We Got the Power” [ft. Jehnny Beth of Savages] e “Andromeda” [ft. D.R.A.M.].
